Mary Kanamu
Aloha, my name is Mary Kanamu. In 2003 I went to see my family doctor, Ron Qwan, because of pain in my stomach. He suspected it was Diverticulosis, but referred me to Dr. Wong, a specialist on Oahu, for further tests.
Dr. Wong informed me that my condition was more serious, likely advanced lymphoma, and that more tests were necessary.
When the test results came back, they confirmed his diagnosis and he scheduled me for 12 Chemotherapy treatments.
After the first chemo treatment, I decided to cancel the rest and rely on prayer and natural supplements.
My follow-up exam showed me clear of the lymphoma and the doctor said, “Whatever you are doing, keep it up.”
This photo was taken in November 2007. (Yes – that is my own hair).
